Found 100 large crabs one day on the beach hiding in rock pools.

The welcome was special, the cottage, views and Appledore way above our expectations.
Jeremy and Sally you deserve to do well, and all I can say is I can’t wait until next year and
I’ll certainly be recommending this delightful cottage, wish I could stay for ever…

I loved everything about the cottage, especially the garden where we fed the seagulls,
felt the sea spray from the waves crashing over the wall and went crabbing.

Family from Oxford

A ‘little haven’. Just what we needed. A real blessing. Thank you. See you again.
Edna, Julie & Jim

The crabbing over the back wall was an excellent asset. I celebrated my 13th birthday
here on Wednesday and I have to say it was one of my best ever.

Back to Appledore for the eighth time! What is there about this place? Each time is going to be our last but we are booked again for next year! Thank you Sally and Jeremy for the wonderful welcome! The Beaver is as excellent as ever – never varies, the standards never slip. Tuesday’s pannier market at Barnstaple is a must for quality of produce. Polly’s Tea Rooms at Croyde for the view and scones, (Baggy Point) as well as Puttsborough Sands. Hartland Quay and the walk to Spekes Mouth Mill – we could go on… but we will continue next year! Thank you again.

Loved the whole aspect of Appledore, the sea, birds, walks, quaint cottages, in particular Mariners’ Cottage, so well equipped comfortable and cosy. Look forward to a return visit.

What a lovely place to sit and watch all the activity on the water, and the sea lapping up the garden wall, and at the end of the day the red sun setting on the horizon. Thank you for your thoughtful planning and kind touches.
Mrs R.

Charm, cleanliness, comfort and superb views have made this a holiday that 4 OAP’s will never forget. We thank you for everything and now look forward to May 2005 when we hope that this wonderful week can be repeated. Bless you.

For someone stuck down by his legs as much as I am – what a place to be stuck! A most comfortable and hospitable pad, and I could happily have spent the whole week at the window, or on the back wall at high tide.
Mr Peter L.

Thank you for a lovely week and the welcoming touches. Three generations of our family managed to find loads to keep us occupied. Just sorry to go home! Will recommend you to friends & family. Thanks again.

Probably the most relaxing place ever – no traffic! Wonderful. Cottage well equipped, upstairs views fantastic. My highlight was seal watching off Hartland Point. The best cream tea ever in the Car Park hut. This is a real find and we plan to return. Thank you.
The M. family

Mariners’ Cottage is home from home. Everything is provided and the views are wonderful.
From Oxford

Another perfect fortnight. The first week had exceptionally high tides and strong winds, so the estuary was spectacular. Great excitement when dolphins appeared opposite Mariners’ Cottage.
Mrs S. a very regular visitor to Mariners

Mariners is an idyllic oasis in an area of outstanding beauty. Thank you for the welcoming gifts.
